HP replaced my notebook with a new dv6129us, it has a hitachy 100g 5400rpm hd, one thing that i noticed when i first turned it on is that the hd is much louder than the 80g hd in my previous notebook. It makes this clicking sound when on idle probably every 7 or 8 seconds and much more when i brouse the internet, when i run programs it makes a grinding sound (i know that hd grind when they are working, but this one seems a little loud). I ran a quick hard-drive scan from the bios, and it passed. Is it normal? It just gets a little annoying with the loud click-click, every so often. Does anybody have the same issue? Or knows anything about it?

Might be a soon-to-come total HD failure.

Hitachis tend to noisier (and produce more heat) over their competitors' HDDs, but they make up for it with performance. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless, as RedSensiStar has suggested, it fails on you one day, or it just annoys you.
