i just reformatted my dv6000 and went from 32 bit vista to 64. i've gotten everything pretty well squared away except the wireless.

at first i had no wireless assistant, so i got that from an hp website, and it's there, however it won't turn on. it tells me to go to tools manager or something and turn on wireless assistant, but it's not there. what is the usual procedure in this situation. thanks in advance!

are there no responses because nobody knows or because this is a commonly asked question?

I'm not entirely sure as I uninstalled Wireless Assistant. However, you really don't need the assistant (just the wireless card driver).

i'm not real sure how to figure out what card i have... it doesn't come up in the devices manager. it seems as though it's not even there.

I suggest you look up the HP site & see if you can find your exact model... then you can see which wireless card you have. HP will also have the drivers there.
