I want to replace my hard drive with this one:

which is a 500GB Western Digital SATA-300

what i want to know is will it fit my laptop, this is what it currently as at the moment:

# Hard Drive: 100 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm

Does it matter about the SATA, do i need to replace it with a SATA-150 rather than SATA-300???

You can replace a SATA 150 drive with a SATA 3.0 drive, it will just run at the lower speed.
