should I download it from windows update site? I dont know the difference between two drivers from HP site and windows update. from hp site there is no such new driver for nvidia and I tried the driver from the windows update it caused forever load after vista login so i uninstalled and went back to old HP's own old nvidia driver so it speeds up.

If you tried the driver and it caused loading times to increase, why would you want it installed?

Never trust WU to update a driver correctly. I've had it fubar my stuff every time.

Just download drivers directly from nVidia.

Just download it straight from nvidia's website. They are really good compared to HP's or Windows Update.

Newer drivers don't always mean better performance.

The newer nvidia driver for my 8400 card makes the fan run loud.. when booting and when waking from sleep.. even when the system is cool. It will run for several minutes and then calm down. That came from the WU driver and the one from nvidia's site. The one on HP's site is the one I use and the fan management is good. I still can play games like GTI racer so I will just leave it as is.

I can also testify to the fan running full speed for ages at boot when its all cold with the latest nvidia drivers. Plus the fan acted wierd when the laptop was basically cool....fan come on full speed for a second and off for a minute. I went back to HPs driver and all is normal again.

HP site has not update nvidia driver for Go 6150 for 2 years...I posted here because I wanted to know which to blame Windows Vista or nVidia for not put notebook to sleep while i am away for second time. It goes to sleep first time just fine but not the second time. I had to press button to force it to sleep when i leave.
