    I cant get my dvd burner to work, burning cds work fine, but every time i try a dvd it cant burn it, just error. Can it be a driver problem ?
    If so what driver could it be i have missed ? Belive i run every driver from hp page.

    Could you post a picture of your Device Manager (with the DVD/CD-ROM drives section expanded)? Or at least tell us the name that shows up there.

    Also, what media are you using? It might be the brand, but it might be the wrong type of DVD RW as well.

    To the OP.

    Besides the media (the mfg, some units not liking xyz media but working fine with other media, it might be the drive prefers a (+) or a (-) type of media.. (not all burners will work with xyz media - Some working great with +, but not - from the exact same mfg,)

    Could be.. the drive is dirty.... You smoke? How many burns have you made with this drive? Or if could be you're burning program.... on the program... have you used it before with success?

    How old is the unit?
