I wondering if any other owners of hp nx series lappies are having the same resullts with their battery times. I am getting less than 2:15 minutes per charge out of my nx6325. This is with the screen at about 3/4 brightness(which is the lowest usable setting in a high light classroom environment) and with wireless on(needs to be to access class materials). Is this par for the course? BTW, my nx is 15 sxga, tl-60, 1gb ram, bt, 100gb 5400 rpm

    thanks in advance

Mines a sub-version of nx6325. an nx6115. Also got around the same battery life as you, but with the screen at the lowest *really min low*. Wireless is on.

I tried RMClock to undervolt but whenever it hit 0.750volts the screen goes corrupted randomly. But when it is stable it hits at least 2 hrs 20mins, sometimes to 2:35.

pcmag has battery life slated at 4:26, and laptopmag has it at over 4 hours. I am beggining to think that they have either found a clever way of cirumventing the duration of a minute that we all recognize, or the numbers in these publications are absolute B.S. Its a shame, because i in part base my decisions on the reviews of others, including those of magazines. I now have a laptop that cant even make it out of my operations management class without dying, let alone the business statistics course that comes afterwards.

All companies do this...understate the battery life. They turn the screen down to the lowest setting, put the computer in the lowest power state, with the minimum amount of RAM (so it doesn't have to power much), WiFi & Bluetooth off, optical disc not running, hard drive not running and if it is at the lowest speed possible. No software preloaded, except for XP/Vista, and then they quote the life. I get about 75% of the HP spec battery life during general usage...and that's the decent/usable settings.

You might want to look into a second battery for the machine, like the 12-Cell Ultra Capacity Battery from HP. Its a small price to pay, but should at least double your battery life. At least.
