I have an HP nx7000 with ATI 9200.

I want to use an external LCD Samsung SyncMaster 215TW in widescreen mode. The screen supports the resolution 1680x1050, same as the built-in LCD screen on the nx7000.

The problem is that I only get 1280x1024 on the external LCD screen, and I'm not able to use the full screen resolution mode.

From what I know the ATI drivers over at HP does not support external resolution for 1680x1050, but has anyone successfully done this by tweaking newer drivers than HPs ? I've heard something about downloading the original mobility drivers and "fuse in" the settings from the HP drivers, but I don't know what that means...

Can anyone help on this ?

    Best of regards... :)

    Hi!

If you haven't been able to solve this problem by now, here's the solution I found on HP's forums that worked for me:
    http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/...5245+1181135252328+28353475&prodTypeId=321957

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 206BW and I was unable to make it work at the 1680x1050 resolution. After updating the ATI driver to version 6.14.10.6451 everything works perfectly!
    I downloaded the driver here:
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp28001-28500/sp28077.exe

    Hope this helped!

    Best regards,

    J.
