    Hi!

I just noticed whenever I change master volume up or down there is a really annoying crackling sound. Is it driver related or should I send my notebook for repairs?

It doesen't matter if I do it with my mouse or with the 2 keys. If I reboot the notebook it's ok for the first few times, but then becomes more and more obvious.

    Any ideas?

Running Windows XP SP2 and all the latest updates.

I see in your signature "MS Windows XP Professional SP2 | Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon"

Do you have the problem in both Windows and Linux?

    Thanks for asking.

I just rebooted back from Linux and it's working ok under Linux so I think it's obviously software and not hardware related.
