I currently have an HP Compaq nx8220 Centrino notebook with the WSXGA+ (1680x1050) screen (wide aspect ratio, high resolution). A colleague of mine recently bought the Turion version, HP Compaq nx6125 with an SXGA+ (1400x1050) screen (normal aspect ratio, high resolution). Although both notebooks belong to the same line (I suppose) the SXGA+ screen has a very bad viewing angle and gets darker at the edges.
-Is this a common issue of all SXGA+ screens of HP Compaq?
-Has anyone else experienced this difference?

(I am planning on getting a second notebook and I was thinking of going back to the normal aspect ratio but this observation is very discouraging.)

The screen on the nc6230 I had for a while was evenly lit, and looked decent, but was pretty dim.

So one vote up for the Centrino SXGA+ but only for the 14" screens I suppose. I have read hundreds of complains about this problem both here as well as at the HP forum and many of them were about nx6125 SXGA+ screens. I could not identify a consistent pattern though. Light leak at the bottom and dark areas in SXGA+ screens is a problem for sure in some notebooks of these series.

On mine the screen was perfect except for 3 reasons:

1 dead pixel on the far right edge that you could barely see
Dim as hell compared to other LCD's
Contrast was like 1:200, really low and the lack of true black showed a lot

Lighting was perfect though being really even and no leakage.
