I am into buying a nx9420 but I´ve read on TomsHardware that the screen will not update fast enough to be able to play games such as Battlefield, Fear etc. I am looking at the 1600x1200 glossy screen. What´s the real situation? Is the lag that bad or what do people owning the computer think? Kind regards/Cafe

It works fine for me. I haven't done any heavy gaming. I've run CS:Source and that ran fine. You can always override the refresh rate to 75Hz. I don't think the display will noticeably affect anything. Btw, itt comes in 1600x1200? That's not widescreen. Um, do you mean 1680x1050?

Yes, you are right. I meant 1680x1050, the wide screen resolution. Otherwise, are you satisfied with the computer? How is your battery stamina?

Well I'm pretty much always plugged in except for the once a month or every two months when I let it drain and recharge. With the ambient light sensor off and not being idle I get a solid 2:15-3 hours of it usually, although like I said I don't go unplugged often, so it might be less, don't perfectly remember.

Completely satisfied with the notebook. Will be more satisfied once I get around to formatting without all the crazy HP stuff running. Ah, one more tip. If you try to download ATI Mobility Catalysts it won't work from the ATI website as the scan hardware compatibility program doesn't recognize HP computers as compatible, hm, go figure. So get the mobility catalyst drivers direct install. In my experience, the Catalysts gave better performance than the Omega drivers. I haven't tried overclocking as of yet, but it's capable.
