I believe I will purchase an HP Compaq nx9420 soon and I would like some opinions of which model would be the best bang for the buck (models from Canada). Some explanations of why you think such a choice would be the "better" configuration would be appreciated. This notebook will be used for CAD and math programs along with a bit of gaming. Any additional Canadian online resellers sites that are selling quite cheap would be nice as well. Right now I'm leaning towards the EV267AA model with the T2400. Thanks for anyone's input.

I agree that model would be your best "bang for the buck". You can always upgrade the RAM in the aftermarket and that will be cheaper than doing it at the initial purchase. Good luck with your purchase and please do a review after you get it. I'd be interested in knowing how you like it.

You can also upgrade the hard drive if you want the faster one for less than HP is charging.

Isn't there any way to customize the nx9420 on HP's site? If there is, I don't see it. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks.

I don't think it's possible in either the Canadian or US HP site to customize the nx9420. All that is available are pre-configured models. So do you people think that it's justified to spend another $200 for BriteView Display, 512MB more ram, 20GB more of HD space, and Bluetooth. Because right now that seems somwhate reasonable to spend another $200.

EDIT: Just wondering if anyone knows if the video card is MXM because in the manuals it is removable. The processor is also removable so that is a possibility of a upgrade in the future.

A question for anyone that owns an nx9420. Does the power plug on the left side placed in a decent spot because it is not directly on the top left corner of the notebook but a little lower due to the vent. I would like some input if anyone thinks that the placement of the jack is suitable and would it cause any problems?

I'm sorry to post again but I would like some responses as I am purchasing this notebook probably by the end of this week. Right now I am torn between the EV267AA model and the EV268AA model. Any additonal inputs about a matte screen versus the BrightView would be really appreciated. If any one that has or has had experience with their nx9420, any comments are welcomed.
