I know that the GPU has it's own 256 MB of RAM,
but I think I've read somewhere that it also uses 512 MB of the system RAM.

    Is it true?

ATT reports that it got 758 MB "Free Texture Memory", isn't that from the system RAM?

I'm running XP-32 with 1.5 GB RAM, so I dunno how it's possible.
    Can it be driver dependant?
