Well, I completely uninstalled (using the ATi Catalyst uninstaller) and reinstalled my drivers. However, sometimes, when opening the lid of my laptop, the screen keeps on going black and goes back again, until I modify, or at least see my settings in someway (like going to the ATi Catalyst Control Center.)

You might want to try using the (slightly old) HP drivers and see if the problem repeats itself. The (general) ATI drivers sometimes have a few quirks with the HP business series notebooks.

Yes I agree, when using any modified drivers there are always small kinks with the GPU.

I've had an array of small issues with modified drivers, there really isn't that much a reason to use them anyways on a notebook. I would stick with the drivers that are made for it (OEM) .

I am using the HP Drivers, right from the HP DL Page. I tried the ATi drivers, which were quirkier, but this is still a bit messed up.

So, any solutions? This is really annoying, having to right click and going to ATi CCC while the screen is going black every 2 seconds.
