    Hi, everyone
I am waiting for my dv9000T with intel C2D 5200 which is 533 MHz, and 1G ram 533 MHz. So, in the future can I use the 677 MHz RAM for it?
    Thanks

Yes you can but if you combine it with 533mhz it will downgrade to that frequency.

yes you can but you will not see any performance increase in ram speed b/c your processor fsb is limited to 533

You can use the 667 RAM but it won't do you any particular good, because like compsavy said your hardware's 'speed limit' is 533. Having the faster ram will just cost you more money =).

one sugesstion! AlWAYS use the same brand RAM on the same comp also same Mhz. It might causes problem when you use two different brand RAM and MHZ or it won't work proper just like the guy upstairs said.
BY the way you question is not silly! I think it is a pretty good question better than many other questions that ppl asked.

Its been stated here before but its worth repeating, that currently notebook ddr2 (sodimms) do NOT benefit much [if at all] from faster bus speeds because they use looser timings, e.g. 667 will have higher latency than 533.

Just get a matching stick, or better yet upgrade to 2gb and get 2 matching 1gb sticks.
