    I have dv5z. If I want to add a fingerprint reader do I just need to install new palmrest and connect it to motherboard? I assume all motherboards have fingerprint reader support.

    I'm pretty sure you can connect a fingerprint reader via USB

    if you want to mod the actual laptop I don't know
