    pavilion dv4000 keyboard or windows

    i have some strange keyboard behavior i have windows with two language english default and arabic
    know when i write with default language (english) i want to type \ but it type ّ i have to change the language to arabic to write \ and then change it back to english
    where are this problem come from keyboard or i have wrong windows setting and how can i solve it?

    Hm, that is odd. I'd try doing a BIOS update, see if that fixes anything. Also, apply the English language, then restart before you start doing anything - it may need to restart in order to apply the changes properly.

    Have you tried creating another account and see if you get the same issue in there?

    Do you have the DV4000 with the X700 or with integrated graphics?

    Here is the link for the drivers/software/BIOS for the older DV4000, if that is what you have.

    And here is the link if you have the newer dv4000 with the X700 and/or DDR2 memory.

    i have fixed it from regional setting i have found more english keyboard have installed after i removed them all things work fine

    I have a question for you DV4000s owners who've had their machines for a while. Has your keyboard and touchpad got a shiny and glossy look from the finish being worn off? I've only had my DV4000 for a little over two months and most of the keys on my keyboard look worn out. :(


    Do other laptop's keyboards wear out this quickly? Granted, I do type very fast and frequently on my DV4000.
