I notice a periodic click every few minutes on my 6000z. It appears each time it decides to click, the hard drive activity light is on. (Obviously, the hard drive is active many times w/o the click) I normally deal with desktop devices and a click on a hard drive isn't a good thing.

    Anyone else hear it?

It would be worth downloading the free diagnostic program from your HD manufacturer's website (not hp.com) and seeing what it says. It might not detect the problem though, if it's a problem at all. It could be seek noise or the drive heads parking after a set period of inactivity.
