    Hi Guys,

New member here. I would really appreciate if anyone could please let me know how I can play a Side By Side (SBS) file on my hp envy so it plays in 3d? I have tried everything! I have searched extensively but can't find anything. I have tried everything on the program stereoscopic play and powerdvd 10.

I have the Radeon 6850 graphics card installed. Could someone please tell me what program I am meant to use and what settings to apply. I have spent hours and hours and I still can't get it to work :( I just see the 2 images side by side always no matter what I do.

Please help! Thank you so much guys

To make it worth people's time, the first person who posts here with a solution on how to play a SBS file on a HP 3d Envy Sandybridge i7 that actually works, I will transfer them $5 through paypal. You have my word. I know it is not much $$$ but at least you get the satisfaction of knowing you helped out a fellow comrad in need.

I won't pull out of this. Would be great if someone could post up asap.

    Thanks all.

I don't really have any idea what an SBS file is, but after googling for a minute or two I gathered that you probably need special software to watch it. Here's a couple links I found:

hdvideo - How to play MKV 3D side-by-side video? - Super User
How can I play Full HD SBS 3D MKV files? (3840x1080 resolution) [Text View] - AVS Forum

Looking on the PowerDVD site for a minute or so, I'm guessing you need PowerDVD 11 Ultra. I saw some stuff when I was googling saying you need PowerDVD MKII, but I'm guessing that's an older version. I'd recommend asking PowerDVD what you need and I bet there isn't much you can do as far as something free, unfortunately. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Yeh I had looked at those links u told me about. Nothing just seems to work. I think that there is a specific setting for the Envy 3d. I mean had it been a NVidia graphics card, there are settings already in those programs for the SBS video to work.

If anyone else knows a solution please let me know.

    Cheers

Did you try emailing/calling PowerDVD or HP?

Thanks for the response. I am sure HP or PowerDVD would not provide any support on how to play these SBS files that are not actually from the bluray disc.

Sorry, I have no idea what SBS files even are, I'm just trying to come up with other resources for you.

You did say earlier that you thought it might be a specific setting for the ENVY 17 3D, so that's why I figured you should ask HP.
