I'm using dv1000 notebook which has speakers in the front. I noticed that new HP notebooks have speakers above the keyboard. Does anyone know how well the speaker sound is when you are listening to music with the LCD lid closed, and does it affect LCD screen in any way.

Nope, it's aaalmost the same with the LCD open or closed. Just a little difference surprisingly.
