a couple of hours ago my battery was 11% so i plugged the comp in (Pavilion dv4t) and it said "plugged in, not charging" i'm not worried because it started charging half an hour after i plugged it in. The processors were averaging a total of about 70% at the time. The screen was at full brightness and the fans were audible. I'm just curious as to why it says "not charging".

is it the outlet you usually the outlet you plug it in to
-
the battery wont charge if the temp of the battery is above a certain temperature. so that one reason it wont charge. after it cools down it will recharge itself.
-
hmm, good info i didnt know that. i know when i plug my computer in, sometimes it says "plugged in, not charging" for about 10 seconds, then it says "charging"

jonhapimp: yea it was
netkiller: yea i think that might be why coz i was using it for a couple of hours b4 i plugged it in. -
uhmm...as a person who experienced that I could give a little advice.
Next time that happens, do the following:
Turn off the notebook.
Remove the battery and the AC plug.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds (helps with static and common power problems).
Insert the battery and AC plug.
Turn on the notebook.
VOILA! MAGIC! -
Infamous22: i don't mean to be rude but is that the solution to all problems? I mean, ur telling me to do this to solve this problem..And less than 2 weeks ago i posted sumthing about my QuickLaunch buttons not working and sum1 told me to do the exact same thing..What exactly does the power button thing do?
