hello guys, i'm new with the site and i find it very helpful with regards to HP/COMPAQ users. :)

Anyway, I'm having minor problem regarding the charging of my DV6000T, sometimes when my battery charge is below 12% and i plugged in it the AC and check the status it says "plugged in, not charging" it stays that way for about 2-5 minutes sometimes then will resume to "plugged in, charging" mode. Is this a bug of vista or is it normal on our dv6000t's? btw, my laptop is a month old.

    thanks! :)

Normal--- mine does it too! Maybe its evaluating the charge or something before it starts

How well are your batteries charging? Mine doesn't appear to be charging all the way, and it's a new notebook:

    Code:
    $ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
    present: yes
    design capacity: 6000 mAh
    last full capacity: 4448 mAh
    battery technology: rechargeable
    design voltage: 14800 mV
    design capacity warning: 227 mAh
    design capacity low: 137 mAh
    capacity granularity 1: 10 mAh
    capacity granularity 2: 25 mAh
    model number: Primary
    serial number:
    battery type: LION
    OEM info: Hewlett-Packard
See? Only 4448 mAh out of 6000. Is this normal??

you should turn off your notebook, after it has been shut off. plug the power cord in , and then start the notebook.. .it then should start charging....with mine, if i plug the power cord in with it running , it will not charge,,,at least last night it would not until i shut if off, plug it in, and then reboot...

    ronss,
mine charges even if it is running, though it sometimes take minutes to start charging when i charge it below 12%, maybe iholla is right, the batterry might be evaluating its charge before it starts.

    between 10 and 20%

i think you have to calibrate your battery
press F1 on Desktop it should open windows help and support, there you should see power & battery topics, see calibrating the battery and follow instructions
    that should help

Looks like many HP users are experiencing this kind of problem. I wonder why HP ain't releasing any fix for this matter.
