It's not actually a problem but i want to turn off my annoying "power on password." I tried to go to bios but there's no option there in removing/turning off the power on password. it only has the option of changing the password with new one.

Is there any application out there that i can use in solving this?

Help please! I'm annoyed of this power on password!

    BTW, I'm using compaq 2200.

Control panel -> Power Options - > Advanced tab and uncheck the "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" box.

Sorry but i was not referring to the power on password in system. what i mean by power on password is the password screen that flash up before the system starts.

I actually turn this power on password by myself using BIOS but when i want to turn it off (because i got tired of typing password everytime i open my lappy) i cannot find the option in BIOS. somebody told me i have to open up my lappy and do something on CMOS... But i really don't want to open my lappy.. so i'm looking for alternative way.

Will it also revert to the previous version of my BIOS?

No, it will just set the choices to the default. You could just try to go into the BIOS and see if the option for a power on password is there and change it.

As i said, the power on password option is there. however, the option is only on changing the password with new one. But the option of "turning off" the power on password is not there.

I didn't try your suggestion because SEB suggestion worked. However, I believe (as you suggested) setting the bios to default will do the same end result.

    Thanks anyway for help!
