    Hello,

I have had a hp 530 for a couple of years now, with no complaints. However, around 6 months ago the adapter began not working properly, so I had to push it in and hold it to maintain power. After a while, this stopped working too, so I brought a new adapter (although not a Hp branded one). This worked fine for the first two months, but then again the same problem. And again a new adapter, and a similar pattern.

Is this a problem with my laptop or with the adapters? If it is a problem with the laptop, it would seem strange for the laptop to be fine for a couple of months before degenerating again. Could the problem with the subsequent adapters be that they are not genuine Hp replacements?

Any help you could offer would be greatly obliged.

    Thanks!
