Hi, I just sent my v3000 to hp because it was heating up a lot after 15 min of use, I looked at the fan and it is 75% covered by plastic, it only have half of half of the round shape of the fan exposed...Is this normal? any v3000 users with the same problem?

i have the same problem, and yes only a portion of the fan is exposed. for me its not worth the hassle to send your notebook to hp (risks - "lost notebook" -damaged during shipping - wait time - turn around time - loss of data) i mean sometimes my notebook would get up to F126 degrees, really bothersome when using it on your lap.

anyways is this the only problem you have with your notebook? what are your specs? mine are below

Oh well, If u have the same fan configuration it means that all v3000z have the same problem, because its logic that if only such an small portion of the fan is exposed, the computer is going to heat up...DUHHH! I dont know how they didnt think of that, now I guess they are going to return my laptop the same way I sent it ..and yes so far this is the only problem I have so far, excluding some scratches in the lid because I didnt get the imprint finish..
My specs are exactly the same as yours, 2 gigs of ram, matte screen, (which I dont like that much I prefer the glossy but i didnt get cuz I couldnt afford that customization), same graphics card, I have Vista premium though. Whats in yor picture, ur laptop, your camcorder, and your...PDA?
