Hi everyone
I have a compaq V6000 laptop which recently needed a replacement power supply and a new power board. After finding the service manual online I took the laptop apart, fitted the new power board and re-assembled the laptop only to find that it will not start again.
The power indicator light on the new power board lights up when I plug in the adapter and the battery charge light flashes (I can't remember if it supposed to flash or be constant) but when I press the ON button nothing happens except that the charge light flashes 3 times quickly and then continues to flash normally.
I have been unable to find a solution and stripped the laptop back down and rebuilt it but nothing has changed.
Has anyone come across this issue before and do you have any advice please

Did you use this Services Media Library or just the manual?
Be an idea to check out the media if you didn't use that to break it down, you may of missed something, if not give this a go, taking out the battery and unplugging it if plugged and try to reset it by holding down the power up button for 10 second, then battery back in and try to boot , if that don't work try it for 20 seconds. -
hi,
thanks for your reply,
tried the reset like you suggested up to 60 secs and still nothing,
took laptop apart again and this time reconnected the power button bar with the ribbon turned around thinking that i had put it in wrong last time and now battery charge light doesnt flash but is constant(not sure which is right, flashing or constant), still no power up though.
any suggestions -
I have to say it's hard to say what's the problem, might be something stupid or you could of done damage, you wouldn't be the first one to do so, why do you try putting the old one back in see if there's a difference.

The old power board was damaged, the pin in the ac connector had snapped off which is why it was replaced
I have already tried that too but still nothing
pressario v6000 power board and now wont start
