I bought a dv2000t about 2 months ago and got the free deskjet F380 all-in-one printer. I sent in the rebate about 6 weeks ago, but when I check my rebate status online I am told "submission not found". I called HP and they said that maybe it hasn't been processed yet. However, 6 weeks seems like a long time. Plus, I never received an e-mail notifying me that HP received the rebate package.

Did I just lose $80? There was no error on my part - I sent everything well and on time. I really hope that the rebate application wasn't lost in the mail. Has anyone had a similar situation, and if so how did you deal with it?

Did you save copies of everything before sending it off? Rebates companies will usually give accept copies if they were somehow lost. For larger rebates I usually send them certified mail meaning they have to sign for it. It costs a few bucks, but worth it in my opinion.
