When I put in a DVD Data Disk that I made in Windows XP into my Vista laptop, I noticed that when using Windows Explorer in Vista 90% of the files were not showing on the DVD disk !!! What am I doing wrong? Why can't I see the rest of the files? None of these files are hidden in XP. I have Vista set to show all files. There were no error messages when using the DVD Disk. I even tryed turning off UAC in Vista, but no more files were visable.

Anyone know why I can't see the rest of the files?

How did you burn the files to the DVD? What software did you use? And does it work if you put the CD in the XP machine?

I burnt the disk using Roxio in XP. It works fine in XP. I see all of the files and get no errors. When I put the disk into my HP Vista laptop, I also get no errors, but see only about 10% of the files there. Its like most of the files are hidden. It shows that the disk is 3/4 full in Vista. I don't know whats wrong. Maybe it doesn't like a dvd +rw DISK.

Yes, very strange. Maybe try to burn it again. Or you could zip all the files, then burn the zip file to the CD.

I tried copying all of the files on my dvd+RW to a regular dvd +R disk in Windows XP and then put the DVD+R disk in my laptop with Vista and all of the files were now visible in Vista!

It looks like Vista has problems reading DVD+RW disks made with Windows XP, but regular DVD+R disks work fine.
