i have an hp notebook quickdock. it worked completely flawlessly with my dv5t that had integrated graphics and a 65 watt adapter. now that i have my dv7 with discrete graphics and 90watt adapter the dock only works if i connect the power supply to the notebook separately, meaning that i have the AC cord plugged in as well as the quickdock. if i plug the AC power supply directly into the quickdock, and then the quickdock to notebook, it doesnt work. the quickdock works, but the notebook will not power up this way. . guess i will be calling tech support tomorrow.

In many laptops, there are two types of power adapters.

Only the higher rated one will power both the dock and the laptop at the same time.

the 65w doesnt work at all. but the 90w wont run the notebook thru the quickdock, which is strange..
