    i was bought a dv5000 hp tell me that is sata harddrive.. but when i disassemble the notebook i saw a pata harddrive!!!! why???

    recently i bought a mini 1000 that use pata ssd i have a question ... how much does the pata slow than sata?? i want know what differ with them?

    PATA interface is rated at 133MB/S.
    SATA-I is up to 150MB/S
    SATA-II is up to 300MB/S

    There are fast PATA SSD and HDD, but SATA is more common, thus represents better value for money. Interface limits would kick in if using something like a X18-M Intel SSD. Mtron and runcore have fast PATA SSD.

    If you want to use a SATA 1.8" SSD in the mini 1000, consider creating an adapter as per http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=356421
