    problem with the recovery

    Hi!I want to make pc recovery of whole system.I run hp recovery software and then i select Start pc recovery.it says to put in recovery disc and then after rebooting it does nothing.I dont have the recovery partiton.Is that a problem?

    Check your BIOS settings to make sure you have boot from CD enabled.

    yeah i did and in the bios cd rom is first boot up device.but when it started to boot i had to press f9 for menu and then select cd rom.did you know that? I didnt know that. :mad: i am such an idiot...... :mad: :mad: .you can delete this post or ban me :D

    On a dv8000t I had and returned I was running some programs that had to run from a cold boot (bootable disk) ...

    Enabled in the bios cd/dvd drive as first boot device- And it would auto-load it every time.

    Later, maybe on like 22 days into the ownership of the machine.. Same machine, same disc's, same bios... and it would sometimes read and load, other times not.. :confused: . To get it to work I would have to wait for the bios screen, then select boot from cd manually.
    (even though I had already selected it and it worked before just fine)
