    problems in installing win Xp on hp dv5t-1000

    Hello,
    i tried to install win xp on dv5t but after the installation finished and windows started for the first time, a blue screen appears for about a micro second and then the laptop restarts. i did include sata drivers while making the bootable cd for win xp. can any one suggest the solution to this problem. can any one send me a complete procedure to install win xp on dv5t-1000 model

    Hi.

    I dont know your system, but have you tried adjusting the ahci mode in the bios.

    I get a BSOD with XP if it`s set to auto, I have to set it to enable, or try disable and see what happens.

    I slipstreamed the sata drivers into xp also.

    coz i am burning my xp sp3 disc right now and will be installing xp in 10 minutes so if this happens with me it will be nice to know how to fix it :p

    i had a look at my bios but i didnot find any option regardig hard drive except for changing boot order. can u exactly specify as how to look for this AHCI????also what are options could i opt for????also earlier i had a problem that when ever i insert xp bootable cd a blue window would apear reporting hard drive failure then i had to restart the system after then i downloaded ahci drivers n put them in xp cd then i got xp installed but at windo startup the problem appeared

    It is sometimes called hdd mode , or E-IDE or SATA mode in some bios`s , E-IDE is for Xp if you dont have the ahci drivers installed.

    well you got to download the drivers for ACHI sata drive.then using nlite software you have to add these drivers in the windows cd.then restart ur computer with dvd/cd in DVD Rom.then you wont have any problem n your windows will install sucesfuly .but dont know whether it would login successfuly or not :-d as mine didnot.

    I have no option what so ever in my bios what ever you are talking about...... i dont what to do about it.can you suggest what do i have to do????
