prt sc key

I have a HP dv7-1247cl and I can't get the print screen key to work.

Anyone know a fix for this.

Yes, with HP Pavillions, you need to click on the Fn key together with the PrintScreen key.

To print the ENTIRE SCREEN: click on PrtScrn + Fn on your keyboard. This captures and stores in the Clipboard everything showing on your screen, including opened property menus and dialogues. If you then open NotePad, WordPad, Paint, or just about any imaging program you can use the Paste function to see the captured image.

To print just the ACTIVE WINDOW on the screen: Use Alt + PrtScrn + Fn. Copies only the ACTIVE window. So, you would get whatever window is open, neatly cut out already, on the Clipboard ready to paste in to your favorite image app.

To print the INTERNET SCREEN + MORE
If you are capturing something on internet you can always press F11, make as many captures as necessary and then stitch all together using Photoshop or any other program. Use the PrintScreen button and Ctrl+V shortcut. It's fast.

Go to any Windows Explorer list in Windows Explorer and hit Fn + Prt Sc. Then paste the image into WordPad and save it as a Word doc. Note though, that when you do this step, it appears to "save" in Rich Text Format, but when you try to open the Word doc, you may have to do a Save as, into RTF again.
Then, when you go back into Windows Explorer to access the file, strangely, the Word doc is saved as a folder, and within the folder is the Word doc in which the image is printed. When you’re finished, remember to DELETE the FOLDER you just created.
