i really like the design of the dv2800t notebook. i am just wondering when hp will equip the notebook with a 9-series video card.

Never, its an entertainment notebook not a gaming notebook. A geforce 8400m GS 256mb is the best you can get due to the notebooks design, size and cooling

They wont even put a 8400GT what makes you think they are gonna drop a 9 series card.

Yeah flip is right. I get temps of upto 95-96 C with a 64 MB 8400 M GS!

well i thought they could've upgraded it to the 9300 or something since the 9300 isn't really a gaming card either. the 9300 has a smaller die size so it would make the laptop run more efficient

Actually, the 9-series GPUs are just die shrinks of the 8-series, which means lower temp and longer battery life. The 9300m GS has exactly the same performance as the 8400m GS, and 9500m GS has exactly the same performance as the 8600m GT. The big question is - is the 9500m close to the thermal output of the 8400m? If it is, it would be nice to see it as an option, along with the 9300m for longer battery life and a little less fan noise...

yeah since the 9300m gs is roughly the same as the 8400m gs but more efficient i thought they would upgraded it some day

Well, hard to say but I would speculate that HP might decide to introduce a new series with the Geforce 9 GPU's rather than updating the dv2800 series with it. HP usually brings out new notebook releases in May and have it ready for sale by June/August and considering that both Intel & AMD have new updates coming to their respective platforms, HP might update them at that time.

I really hope they have the DV3000 ready then. The wait is killing me. I hope I don't crack and get the DV2800t.
