    Hi everyone,

I recently received my dv2000t and am pretty impressed. The trackpad could be better, but it's not terrible. I have some random questions for everyone.

    1. I checked my brightview screen manufacturer in device manager - it's LPL. From what I can tell in existing threads, QDS and LPL are preferred draws, compared to SEC.

    2. I ordered the small multimedia remote as an accessory, which arrived a few days before the computer. However, the laptop came with another remote, which is black instead of gray and has a button with the vista logo in place of the music launch button (upper right). I can return the other remote, right? Has anyone had this happen? It may be a vista thing.

    3. I haven't used the battery yet. For how long should I charge it before first use?

I may come up with more questions as I mess around with what is a great laptop so far. Thanks!

SEC screen is also quite good, charge the battery to full, doesn't matter how long it takes (could be 30-40 mins). Do you have a media center OS?

i got vista home premium . . . it has media center included so that's why they sent the remote probably.

it's just weird that there was no indication of the notebook coming with a remote already. that's why I ordered it as an accessory.

I would say as long as it performs the functions you need, return the other one you paid for.

Going by the ramblings of pavillion users, the SEC display is at the bottom of the quality totem pole.
Seems that AUO and QDS are the best. with the LG following.

I have noticed a couple of additional things and wonder anyone has any insight.

    1. The control panel for nvidia geforce go 7200 offers very little options - just the amount of 3d performance desired and an output display. Shouldn't there be more options?

    2. The computer boots automatically when I plug the ac port into the laptop. Is this normal? It makes charging the battery with the notebook off difficult.

    3. During charging the indicator is not blinking but just steadily on. How do I know when the charge is complete?

    Thanks.

I got a LPL and the color is not rich and the view angle is a bit narrow. But it is fine. When I tip the panel to the right angle, it is still very beautiful.

I like my LPL, but then again I got the matte and not the glossy.
