    i was just wondering, should i be able to watch dvd's and stuff on my laptop with out booting into windows?

    and if so how?
    its a 1028 us, one of the biglots $599 laptops.

    No. Quickplay lost the quick-boot functionality since Vista.

    huh thats werid, my aunt recently got a dell xps and its quick plaything worked without going into windows

    Dell is different. They got media direct to work on Vista. HP still hasn't been able too since Vista came out.

    So much for quick-play.
