maybe im just dumb but right now when my laptop is at 100% charge it says 1:05 min remaining.. this is a brand new laptop. although it says that the charge is lasting much longer (closer to the 4 hours i expected). but why is the battery life showing 1 hour and such.

thanks for the help in advance

so your battery actually lasts almost 4 hours, but when you look at the battery meter it says 1:05 min remaining at full charge?

Another quick question on this subject: I plugged the Envy for the first time and didn't wait until it got fully charged to turn it on... I got a message on the screen complaining that the battery was damaged, turned it off, let it charge, and the message was gone. Did I hurt the battery?

    Thanks :)

I got the same problem with you too. I just got Envy 14 with radiance display and the battery said that I have only 1:05 hour only. Do you know how to solve this problem? or my battery is defective?

I believe the recent Envy's had a motherboard update which makes battery meters read incorrectly. The same battery estimates for 4:30 in my old Envy..I say just ignore what they say, if your battery lasts 4 hours then thats all that matters

Make sure you do the battery test at start up to see if you may have a faulty battery. Also, battery bar will get more accurate the more cycles you go through and the windows battery timer is just retarded so don't even pay attention to it.

You didn't damage your battery by doing that but i would let it it charge all the way before you go on battery just to extend its life.

Did anybody wait until the laptop warmed up before turning it on? I've read quite a few posts about receiving laptops that were ice cold. I'm thinking if you had an i7 that ran hot you might introduce condensation behind the case.
