Do you have to purchase Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.) separately or does it come with the Windows XP on the laptop?

If this software must be purchased separately, are there good discounts for students? I really only need Word and Excel and don't want to pay a lot.

its something you pick as you are config. online.

Its a extra package BUT I would go to Bestbuy, or costco because you can get Students and teachers edition for alot less.

    it would be called

M Office for Students & Teachers

If your school has the agreement with MS, you would have XP Pro SP2 for $5~$7 or even $0 if you download it from MS server through your school channel. Lot of universities have this.
