I deleted the D partition on my dv 6000z and the quick play button does not work when I try and use it on bootup. When I touch the button the computer boots into windows. When in windows the quick play buttons work. Was there something in drive D that made quick play work on bootup??

Have you tried reinstalling the Quickplay software. D drive by itself does not contain anything with regards to QP functionality. It is most likely since you deleted the partition sequence was changed & so QP partition might not be properly recognised. Just delete the QP partition, leave it as unallocated space and then run the Quickplay setup program. The necessary folder(HPQPDP) should be located in the Swsetup folder.

I am getting an error when I run the hpqpdp setup error number 2147418113. it seems when i deleted drive d their was a portion of the drive for quick play. Hp says i have to use the recovery disc to bring it back and lose my data. There has to be a way to get back quick play without doing a full disc recovery.

OK here is the fix I set up 1028 of free space using paragon partition manager and just went to swsetup and reinstalled hpqpdp setup (HP tech help sucks. anytime i have a difficult problem Hp cannot help me) There answer to any difficult problem is to do a system recovery.

Pretty much whenever there is a change in the partition tables, the QP always needs to be reinstalled.

I agree with that miner but reading some of the past posts they say leave 304mb of space and then I found that i had to leave 1 gb of space on a partition in order for the quick play to set up without getting the error. HP support sucks when it comes to anything difficult to solve.

The older versions of Quickplay needed only 304MB space, the newer versions QP 2.0+ need 1GB partition.

As for the service, it is pretty much the same situation with any other manufacturer. It is especially frustrating if you are compter literate & have to talk to a rep who knows less & has to walk you through steps you know wont work.
