I had the random freezes on my dv2000t too. Turned out to be an issue with the Outpost firewall.
Check the eventlogs. You might find the cause in there. -
so how exactly did you rectify it?
cuz if not i was thinkin of doing a recovery from the partition (gotta put it to use lol) -
any other suggestions?
-
check event viewer and also look at ur task manager when this happens to see what the problem cud be.
do u have the new version of nero installed? -
acctually i downloaded a verion on nero 6 yesterday but its been happening way before i installed nero
i have been checking task manager but havent seen anything change except the cpu load and the ram taken up by the media player and nhc change thats it -
well is the ram change happening with both or either of those two programs? if so then try not using that program. so instead of media player use something else like winamp and instead of nhc use another program. also since ur using xp download process explorer, it shows cpu usage of programs task manager doesnt mention
-
oh ok ill try doing that i usually use media player and itunes for media playing ok ill try out what you just told
-
i did a reinstall using the recovery discs but loks like thers no hange but one thing i ahve noticed is while the earphones are plugged into the port there is no freezing the minute i take it out theres is freezing which is quite evident when listening to music may i also say that the hdd skips
random freezing.....
