    Looking for quality inexpensive accessories....

    - wireless mouse (I don't have bluetooth)
    - auto adapter. I've seen adapters in CompUSA that plug into your lighter and have a standard 3-prong outlet. Are these safe to plug your laptop into?
    - extra power adapter. I have 2 power adapters for my dv4000, but I'd like to pick an additional one. Has anyone had any experience with non-HP adapters?

    thanks

I bought a remote control from HP for $18.00...very cute, there's a slot in the Dv4000 where it fits in when not in use. I'll buy a wireless mouse from Sam's Club for about $29 (the highly rated Microssoft mouse or maybe a Logitec laser mouse for $49), I've priced car adapters/charger (actually a universal adapter/charger) at Best Buy and Office Depot, in both cases they were substantially less expensive than HP, about $50. Got a nice Targus computer backpack at Circuit City for 29.00 and a Western Digital 7200 RPM 120 gig external HD (for back-up purposes; I've gone through 3 HD failures in my life and I finally learned) for 70.00 after applying the 60.00 in rebates they were offering. I don't know if you consider insurance an accessory, but I also canceled my extended warranty with accidental damage insurance through HP and added the machine to my Homeowners... there's a $250 deductible on the home owners but the cost for 3 years is $45 instead of $349 through HP.

I have had good results with this CyberPower inverter that can be used in either cars or airplanes. It is designed to fit into a cup holder and offers a 12V outlet so you don't lose your car's outlet while it is in use. It is pretty cheap as well at $27.67 plus shipping.

(-: ....not only lazy, but old too! We're going to Negril Jamacia or Southern Arizona for three months this winter and we're going to use the lappy as a DVD player... you know, lazing in a hammock, driftin' off to sleep... who ants to get up and shut off the machine? Yeah, you're right....pretty lazy. :D
