I am about to install ubuntu HH and dual boot with xp on my dv9000. I have recovery disks that were made when I first had the system. If I use the recovery disks in the future will I lose HH in the process or will the recovery only kill the xp partition?

should only kill the xp partition, that's what it did on my acer... which was unfortunate considering I was trying to get rid of HH...

The recovery disks will probably wipe your Windows XP partition, and reset your system to factory defaults. Since Ubuntu HH is located on the same partition, there is a good chance that this will be deleted too.

Your entire HD will be wiped and returned to the factory default (including all the bloatware, etc.)
