you should remove the link in post -- otherwise a mod will delete your whole post. Posting about torrents is against the forum rules.

Why can't you just do a system restore, either from the restore partition or from the DVDs you should have made. If you are trying to do a clean install, it is certainly possible. At the very least you will need to get your true XP product key using one of the utilities specifically designed for that task -- any of the ones listed here http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/tp/topkeyfinder.htm should work. You will need that key, not the one on your COA to reinstall Windows. If you are installing from a disc that already has SATA drivers that will make installing easier, otherwise you'll need to follow the reinstallation guides which will tell you how to slipstream yourself or adjust the BIOS setting so XP install sees your hard drive.

You can order a clean install CD from HP, that is just the OS install CD with the needed SATA drivers on it. With a new system purchase the disc run $19... I don't know what it costs if you call to order one for an existing system.

You're right, My bad. I forgot they stopped offering the OS Reinstall discs awhile ago.
