An 80GB SSD is available for configuration, but there is no information about the specific details about the SSD. Also, I think it is unwise to configure an HP 2140 on the HP website becuase of the unreasonably high prices.

I would just buy the 2140 and the SSD separately and replace the hard drive with the SSD.

I do not know much about HP's warranty policy, but I think it would void the warranty because you have to disassemble the whole netbook. However, as far as I know, replacing the hard drive is not that difficult although you have to open the whole netbook to reach the hard drive or RAM unlike other 14-inch or 15-inch notebooks. Check YouTube or other websites to find out how to disassemble the 2140.

BTW, I do not know anything about the Intel x25-m SSD, but HP might be offering the SSD you want as the option. If you go to the following link (below), HP is offering an 80GB SSD that is $375. And, I checked Newegg.com, which is selling the 80GB Intel x25-m SSD at $314.99.

However, I cannot guarantee because most (or all) computer companies, including HP, Dell, and Appe, do not offer information about what brands or products they are going to put for hard drives or SSDs on their websites. They just say something like "160GB 5400rpm hard drive".

Anyway, as I mentioned in the previous post, it would be unwise to configure a 2140 on the HP website. Pre-configured 2140 models are much cheaper. And, more interestingly and strangely, among those pre-configured models, a lower-spec 2140 is more expensive than a higher-spec 2140.
