I have a HP dv9000z laptop and some of the functions in windows media player stopped working, such as the taskbar won't work anymore and it wouldn't recognize what cds i put in. Is it possible to repair windows media player with the windows anytime upgrade cd? Can i run the install within windows vista and it would only repair it and not wipe out any of my data?

    Thanks in advance

Why not just download it from Microsoft's website and re-install it.

just uninstall Windows Media Player and download it from microsoft.com and install again.

and no, it won't wipe your music or anything.

Perhaps I spoke a bit too soon, assuming you had XP installed. This may be of interest.
