I have a dv7-1020us, I'm needing to replace the tv antenna that came with it. Do y'all have any suggestions? Would appreciate any help.

Dunno if they're all alike... but here is an image of what the side of mine looks like, where the antenna plugs into the yellow jack.

that just might work for him. I'm assuming he broke the external piece and not the internal connection.

    Hi,

OP, sorry to go slightly off topic but Im thinking of buying the DV7-1020ea in the next few weeks. Can I ask, would you recommend the model/HP and have you had any major problems?

    Thanks,
    Marc

Use better the mini-cable included with your laptop, and connect it to any antenna available and it should perform much better than the included in your lappy.

I got the same laptop than yours and i mostly use the adapter to view the hd channels by air without problem with an external antenna connected with the adapter included.

The small external antenna you get is pretty crappy depending on where you live.

Yeah, I think it's the right end. Here is the antenna I need replaced, I broke the end somehow. Don't remember how it happen. :(

The telescopic one, I think, won't work would it? I'd like to either buy another that's the same or an improvement.

Yeah, I broke the external piece. Dunno remember how, but the end got bent.

I don't have any complaints, other than I had to replace the battery, it also seems to get kind of hot sometimes.

Does it look like this one?

Yes i bought it for a barebones dv7-1025nr thinking i wouldnt get the antenna with it and would need one. Well it turns out this model dosent even come with the tuner built in it came with an external tuner. Just give me a few days for it to arrive from ebay. I can list it on ebay if you would rather work through ebay too.

The internal tuner supposed digital OTA and analog in media center, and you can pickup Clear Qam in the HP quickplay. As for the external tuners, there are 2 models, one that supports digital and one that doesn't, so if your ebaying the external expresscard one, make sure you get the digital one.
