Whoever posted the link to the interactive demo stuff, looks like HP pulled some of them.

Also, the Voodoo collaboration hasn't really been anything specific, only hints that it'll be a laptop (but not necessarily an entire line).

Edit: Now that I read it, I think some of you guys are confusing HP's old laptops with what's coming next, lol... the dv5000 video is of the old dv5000 laptop.

    Hey Guys

Seems like HP likes us Danish people, 'cause they launched the new DV4, DV5 and DV7 series here in Denmark already.
I'm really looking forward to exchanging my DV9332 with a DV5. As somebody else mentioned, they have obviously listened to their customers and put in a decent GPU. The DV5 has a 9600M GT, but unfortunately just a 1280x800 15,4" screen.
They've also put in a processor i've never heard of before, a "P8400" 2,26 ghz. Is that Montevina?
The AMD based models seems to be based on PUMA platforms.

Anyways, here are the links for the Danish HP site. The tech specs are pretty much language-universal, but if you need me to translate something, let me know.

The new specs certainly look nice, but I really wish the U.S. got the dv3000 like the Asian (I think it was) markets did. I may end up going with Dell for my next laptop to get a 13.3", depending on what they do with their line-up.

.. and what about a successor to the 8510p / 8510w? I'd want at least an upgraded GPU, if not also DDR2-800 support. I'll be getting a new notebook this summer, but I'll want to make sure I won't miss some major upgrade by 1 or 2 weeks.

As predicted/speculated, the new brushed aluminium finished notebook with NightLight is the business laptop that will lay all build quality debate between HP's business notebooks and Lenovo's upcoming Thinkpad to rest. This notebook is expected to have the highest quality finishing that no other product announced so far can match.

The current launch is for the low to mid range series. The refresh for the high end P and W series have yet to appear, but they are expected to follow the design direction of the 6930p.

However, there are still several glaring ommissions that one must note:
    No hybrid graphics support
    No WXGA+ LED
Unknown LCD quality at this point

DV7 will have the Nvidia 9600 GT! I know shocking isn't it? HP finally went for a GT instead of a GS. Intel/Nvidia based DV7 will be out later this month. The AMD/ATI version July.

DV7's looking pretty good. Also will include a subwoofer.

Sadly, can't find any news on the HDX if it's being continued or discontinued. The fact that the price has dropped >40% since it was introduced mid last year and the fact that HP just gave away 31 fully loaded HDX's doesn't bode well concerning its future.

ok, not going to lie, i see absolutely no official information on any of the new dv series notebooks having a 9600gt. i also see nothing about LED displays (with the exception of that 14 inch they say has the option.)
and jeez HP, where is the backlit keyboard? you copy off of apple with the backlit logo, but cant quite copy off of the display? shame shame. and is bluetooth standard at this point? or just an option?
wireless too, is wireless N standard on Montevina, or just an option?
these thing's i'd like to know for sure. thank you.

    and then the rumors ended
that's the spec sheet for the dv7:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=us&lang=en&rule=19716&dlc=en&product=3753797
this 17 inch beast will have a 9600m GT, and will weigh in at about 7.6lbs. no LED display though.
and here's the spec sheet for the dv5 (the dv5-1000ea to be exact.)
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=us&dlc=en&product=3753564&rule=19716&lang=en
    another model with blu-ray:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=us&lang=en&rule=19716&product=3753633&dlc=en
they are using the Nvidia geforce 9200m GS. What is that!? (can someone rank that compared to a 8000 series card so i can get an idea?) it's going to weigh about 5.84lbs, and will not have an LED display.
i think i'll be shopping at apple or Lenovo this fall.

I don't think they will be out in july, but I have a bit of news on the HDX series. They aren't going anywhere and there are going to be quite a few new changes. Think Dell XPS series. That's all I've been told for now, but we'll see how things go as info on them (notice I said THEM) firms up.

That's interesting. They're going to create a premium line. 13", 15", 17". Will be interesting. Though the new Pavillions look to already compete with Dell's XPS line. Wonder if they'll keep and update the 20" HDX. See if you can gather some info on that.

well, after looking at the specs it looks like i found my new toy. I was looking at Toshiba and Dell, as i wanted a really good gameing laptop, i dont know much about the 9600GT, but this could be the mark, and HP could have stepped up to the plate with the dv7-1050ea

anyone wanna guestimate on a price? same as the current pavillions, and phase the old ones out? or uber expensive?

    :)

it's slightly faster than the 8600m GT ddr2 which is currently the best card Dell offers on non-XPS machines. and actually more faster if it comes with ddr3.

i want to buy an HP too.

ETA: if the rumours are to be believed Dell is sticking with the crappier 8600m gt for their upcoming refresh this summer. no thanks Dell.

there are rumours that in July new HP pavilion models will be available ( DV4, DV5, DV7), but again Centrinio 2 without wimax and without quad core.

can anybody tell me? I dont understand .whom to beleive, where to find information about this? I was waiting from March and did not buy existing model.

CDW now has the dv5 listed on it's site, although there are no details listed. There are two models: the dv5-1000US listed with a 250GB HD, 4GB Ram, P7350 processor ($1105.99) and the dv5-1010US listed with a 320GB HD, 4GB Ram, P7350 processor ($1306.99).

    http://www.cdw.com/shop/search/results.aspx?key=dv5&platform=All&sr=1&Find+it.x=0&Find+it.y=0

I'm guessing that the full specs will fairly closely mirror the two units listed here on the UK HP site:
    http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF25a/21675-38187-38191-38191-38191-82049137.html
