Hi guys,
is there a way to use a sata dvd burner or blu-ray burner with the dv9000 series, in particular dv9640us? I was thinking if there is such a thing as an adapter or something like it to replace the regular pata that goes in the motherboard.
My old dvd drive is faulty and i can't find anything about it(ds-8a1h)
Thanks in advance.

No. There's no way to connect an SATA drive to a PATA connector. I don't know enough about HP's parts, but I'm sure you can find the HP part number for your drive and order a new one.
A quick google turns up this, which may be a little overpriced: http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/HP,Pavilion,dv9600,GS745UAR,Laptop,Drives-CD-DVD-RW.aspx
But the parts are almost certainly out there.
