Long story, I'd rather not go through explaining it - but I figure I might ask the question here since someone might know.

To be brief - Someone sprayed Windex, clearly way too much Windex, on my dv6000z. It's only a couple months old, but the screen is completely trashed now. It still works, but the entire bottom of the screen is all marked up and looking at it from a different angle makes it display really weird.

Its still usable, but to say the least, I'm not very happy. Anyway, I was wondering if there might be a way to repair the screen or some such? The idea of buying a replacement doesn't particularly tickle my fancy but the damage IS from misuse

Why not try installing a screen protector/film?

I ordered one for my HP (no marks yet). It claims to hide dull spots and minor scratches and improve contrast.

    Do a search on e-bay.

Thanks for the suggestion ,but trust me that's not going to help. The damage is on the other side of the screen (ie whoever sprayed it let it seep through to the other side. Too bad none of the people I live with are fessing up to it >.<). And basically the entire screen has been effected by it - the top half is filled with streaks and dullness, it's only the bottom half that is completely spotty and much more noticable.

Since it's a dv6000z, I'm assuming that a potential repair would be so expensive that it would almost not be worth doing (ie close to the price of the machine) however...it would be nice to know if I had that option open at all.
