i'm wanting to use both VGA and HDMI, but normal VGA cables are too wide and covers part of the HDMI port.
other than hacking off part of the end VGA cable, does anyone know of a cable that doesn't have screws?

yeah i ended up hacking mine off as well Twitter
i have my hdmi connected to a 22" computer monitor at 1680x1050 and the vga to an older 50" plasma at 1366x768. this is with the lid closed on the laptop. i'm not having any issues with the hdmi, but the vga may have some issues, i'm not 100% sure yet. if i see any problems i'll post again. -

normally when you clone the monitors need matching resolutions, am i right? most monitors don't preform well when they aren't displaying in their native resolution as far as i know.
i'm having a lot of problems with jumpy frames on video when i'm extending with my monitors. when i only have one enabled i'm not seeing jumpy video.
only the vga monitor is lagging when i'm extending monitors. if i set the hdmi monitor to main, vga lags. if i set the vga to main, vga still lags.
edit; well this is interesting. when i switch to the power saving intel gpu instead of the high preformace 6490m radeon i don't get any lag on either monitors when extended enabled lol.
"screwless" VGA cable?
