Was wondering if there is a housing to put in a second hard drive by using the CD rom slot?

anyone can share some light on this?

I don't think there is anything available. You might want to simply buy a hard disk, and install it into an enclosure. A small 2.5" enclosure will provide alot more portability than using an integrated one. Alternatively, if you need more storage space, you could simply purchase a new bigger hard disk.

nope .. just get an external hd. it would be cheaper too. speed my be different but i don't know if that matters to you. i have the dv9000 with an extra hd slot. i was planning on getting a new 160gb hd to add to the 80 i already have but the average price of a hard drive is $150. i ended up just getting the 160gb WD passport hd for $130 at costco.

You couldve taken the hard drive outta the enclosure and installed it, but then you would also need to purchase the bracket from HP so it can fit in there...

One of the reasons Im happy I got a dv9000 with both drives is so if i ever wanna upgrade I dont have to worry about getting the bracket from HP since its not gonna be readily available in this part of the world
